Khorrami, Pollard & Abir, LLP, is a premier employment litigation practice. Over the years we have handled numerous complex wage and hour cases on behalf of many individuals. We understand the difficulties employees face when dealing with unfair employers and working in unlawful conditions.

Our lawyers are experienced in handling cases related to the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and have undergone extensive training on wage and hour laws. They possess an extensive knowledge of prevailing wage issues in public contracts and are well-versed in industry practices.

Many wage and hour cases are filed as class actions because they increase efficiency and lower legal costs, thus benefiting all plaintiffs in the lawsuit. We actively handle such violations as class actions and as large groups or entire departments within companies. This enables us to reach a comprehensive and rapid resolution of the issue.

The court has granted us class certification in the past and has appointed us as class counsel. Before such certification is granted, the court conducts a rigorous investigation to make sure certain requirements are met and that the firm has the necessary resources to maintain such class action cases.

"You essentially have people living paycheck to paycheck, and it means a lot when you have them work through their lunch period and they don't get paid for it."

Employer's Legal Obligation

The law requires all employers to compensate their employees for their work.

Most employers are mandated by law to recompense their staff for work in excess of 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.

Employees are also entitled to rest breaks and meal breaks throughout the workday, or, if denied meal and rest breaks, are entitled to be compensated for them.

By law, employees who have been wrongly denied these rights by their employers are entitled to recover their unpaid wages and any costs accrued in legal fees.
