April 2008 - Avandia, the popular diabetes drug manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, is reported to have caused serious heart attacks and congestive heart failure. Avandia has been prescribed to more than 6 million Americans since its approval. GlaxoSmithKline represented the drug as safe and effective, when in fact, it likely resulted in very serious injuries. Although studies showed that Avandia potentially had risks, Glaxo did not adequately warn or remedy the defects, and instead ignored the danger signs. The FDA has since updated the product's labeling on several occasions to reflect this data, but many patients began using Avandia before any such warnings were made. Khorrami Pollard & Abir, LLP has filed many cases on behalf of clients who have experienced heart attacks and congestive heart failure while using Avandia. We are certain that you will also be interested in pursuing clients who were injured by this drug. Given the vast number of people who have been prescribed Avandia, thousands of injured individuals are currently unrepresented. Please call Khorrami Pollard & Abir, LLP for any assistance you may need in the pursuit of clients and the prosecution of these vital cases.
